POP It Like It's Hot!

Hello again friends!

Today's super fun baking project was... drum roll please...

Caramel Apple Pie Pops!

Ok, I realize I may be way too excited about these mini pies with sticks in them, but seriously, look how delicious this one looks!

I did cheat again today by using already made pie crusts and I bought caramel dip.

So, all I used for this was 2 Fuji Apples and 2 Granny Smith Apples.
I used a sprinkle of Cinnamon, less than 1/3 Sugar and a pinch of Corn Starch, and 2 tsp brown sugar. And, of course, the Caramel Dip!

Right!? I know what you're thinking.

Now this is not you're momma's typical apple pie.
Ok, ok, they may be exactly like your mom's apple pie, I have no idea.
I just really wanted to use the phrase. I've never had a chance to before.

The only truly sad thing about this pop is there is no butter!
I know, shame!
All I could think was, "why do I need butter when there is caramel dip?"
After the feedback tonight from my friends I'll ask if they need butter.

I'm really excited for making more of these.
Emma already asked how to make them for her coworkers.
So, I'm excited for these to maybe be requested by others friends.
HINT, HINT. WINK, WINK.

Make It A POP!

Hi friends!

It's been so long, I know! But I've decided to change things up a bit and make this sort of into a food type how to blog. Seeing as I cook and or back quite frequently, it just feels right.

So, today's project.

Strawberry-Peach Pie Pops.

This was the first time I've made these so I did take a few short cuts. Naturally.

Back round:
I originally heard of this idea from an episode of David Tutera. (I may have spelled the last name wrong)
Any way. The bride wasn't a huge fan of cake so one of the activities he and his bride did together was make pie pops and I've wanted to make them ever since. So, thanks to me for being super genius and transferring stores I now have mids and nights free! Plus today is an off day, so I had all the time in the world no matter what.

So, Friday I am having dinner with dear friends and Em and I were asked to bring dessert. Dessert it is! And I'm so excited for them and their daughter to give these a whirl. I hope one year olds can have strawberries already!

What you need:

 Strawberries +

Peaches (peeled and de-seeded) +

1 Tblspn Corn Starch
A few shakes of Cinnamon
A few shakes of Nutmeg
3/4 Cups Sugar. Add more if you desire.

This beautiful combination will then get you this

TAH- DAH!!

Now, I cheated and because this was the first time making these I went with good ol' store bought pie crusts. It was much easier than making my own. (however, making your own pie crust requires like 3 ingredients. I just didn't feel like doing that much extra work.)

So after cutting out many circles you place stick and fruit in center.

Like so.

The pie cover will need to be slightly larger so that it covers the mound of delicious sugared fruit.
Now, I'm pretty certain watching this episode "My Fair Wedding", they did not butter and sugar the top of the pies. However, I love butter and more sugar, so 'to each his own' on that one folks. It's superb with butter though!

 (see. butter!)

This is a little time consuming but I promise the after is so worth it!

Just take a look!

So good!!!

I know I've said this already, but I'm so excited for my friends to try these!! And super excited to maybe get a chance to make them again with different flavors!
