Booze.

So, for the first time in a long time I went out with some coworkers and had a few drinks.
"Not a bad idea" I thought!

Please let me introduce Audry. She's my soul sister. We found that out the more the night went on. lol.
Now Audry is one of a kind. She's one of those people where you wouldn't change in a heartbeat.
The plan was her and her husband, Jordan, (That's his ear. Sorry Jordan!) wanted to go drinking. So, to our surprise Aud and Jordan paid for drinks. Needless to say Jon and I were and think still are shocked. :D
Meet Jon.
Jon is probably one of the funniest people I've worked with. Next to
Britt of course. Cause let's face it. Britt is hilarious. Anyway, this is what Jon drinks when we go out.
I'm gonna go ahead and put the neck on the line by saying and sticking to that this is one of the nastiest ale's on the planet. Jon and Hugh would disagree 100% but I know I'm right.

After the drinks and closing down the bar we headed to Miss Britt's house.
Now I would like to say that we hung out in a group.
In a sense we did, however Aud, Abraham and myself stayed outside in the cold for the most part.
The three of us just stayed outside just talking to and getting to know each other.
I wish I had more pictures but trust me when I say it was a well deserved TOP NIGHT.
I don't think I've laughed so much in a long time.
And I definitely don't remember the last time laying in damp grass at 2am.

TOP NIGHT!

oh my..

goodness gracious. has it been a week again?
I told myself to do this everyday. But let's face it, my life is not that exciting. lol.

so here's what I do have...

Meet Tessa and Alanah! Two of the funniest pair of sisters I've met since my sister and I.
(Is that right? My sister and I or is it my sister and myself?)
Anyways...
We were invited for dinner, which was delicious!!
and Harry Potter movie night!
Which always makes for a top night. :D
so that was one night of this past week.

another night was the fight night.
Sidenote: I know these days are out of order. Fight night was before Harry Potter night. Just go with it.
So here we are.
FIGHT NIGHT!

Next up is the older boys...
They both had pulled pretty much an all dayer. And they stuck it out as best they could.  But ultimately the cool air and soft bed called them to sleep.  Successfully I might add.  Did I mention that these two are also some of the cutest children on the planet and that I love all three so so so so much! :D

Next up consists of a happy birthday to my now 4 year old nephew.
Auntie Emma made an awesome and delicious chocolate spiderman cake. Requested by Hudson, of course.  And to clarify the pair of scissors was not part of the cake. Birthday candle was of course part of the cake. And the lighter... well something had to light the candles!

All in all it was a great night. point in case.
4 children eating cake and ice cream is
probably the most precious thing on the planet...

Top Night.

So, to start it off, there is no picture for tonight. I apologize. But here's the story.

Had a great day today at work.
Everything went very smoothly as far as no one was too bitchy and the co workers had me laughing all shift. So already, makes for a great work day.

So, after our hour and a half store meeting my buddies Hugh, John and I decided Lazy Dog Cafe needed our hard earned money and more importantly that we all needed beers!! HAHA!
The boys decided SHARK ATTACKs would be a good idea... let me tell you. NEVER A GOOD IDEA!!
Anyway, it was a short but sweet night. Sat by the Lazy Dog Cafe fire pit on the patio and just hung out with Hugh. It's the little things that can brighten someone's day that much more.

lessons.

So, I think I'm going to have some sort of direction with this thing.
I'm hoping that everyday I can and will learn a new lesson.
I'm still including pictures 'cause let's be real, those just make it more fun! :D
So, here we go. Today's lesson was

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER.

So what happened was this...
Today at work I upset a dear friend of mine.
It was not intentional AT ALL!
And I hope now he knows that. (Which I think he does)
But he told me,
"I'm surprised. I thought you knew me better."
To which I thought,
"WOW! I am totally wrong! About all of it."

Two points.
A.) I felt awful for not being a better friend.
B.) I'm glad I was able to realize that now instead of later.

But what kind of person does that make me?

Picture time!

This is a picture of my Bible.

Here I go...
Keep in mind that lesson from above.
Now in my case today at work it had to do with a friend.
But for the past months the Bible has been my biggest challenge.
It has taken me on one emotional roller coaster ride.
Just ask everyone around me.
Now don't forget.
This wonderfully crafted literature has heartbreak, peace, love, and sorrow.
(To name a few)
Lately I've been trying to focus on the good.
'Cause let's face it.
I need some good vibes my way.
Now more than ever in my life it seems.
And I can't even tell you how much it has helped.

I'm gonna tell you right now.
there was a point in my life when I judged this book by it's cover.
and for the record.
SHAME ON ME!
I was so afraid that I would flip to the one random page and it would have my
"slap in the face" moment waiting for me.
How foolish was I?
Because let's face it.
I NEEDED THAT SLAP IN THE FACE!!
You think I would've learned this lesson then.
but I'm just stubborn enough to still turn a blind eye.
NOT ANYMORE FOLKS!

My lesson was learned today.
so thank you my dear friend for helping me open my eyes.
Even though I upset you, and I am sorry for that.
You helped me once again.
:D

Can I have my weekends back now?

So, I'm sort of a whiner.
I'll admit that. But honestly, when I first transferred I had lovely weekends off...
but look at this!
now, I know that's sort of blurry. I apologize.
But for the most part this work schedule has everything for you.
From crack of dawn 5am. to way too late for a coffee shop at 12:45am.
What is that about!?
Now, I'm complaining, I know.
But let me clarify. I am 100% grateful that I have said job to keep me afloat.
And P.S. I sort of like making lattes and meeting new different people everyday. It's exciting in a way.
Coincidentally enough, my dictionary app on my phone is calling me a kvetch right now.
I guess you learn something new everyday.
:D

Oh What A Night...

So that is supposed to finish with "and The Magnetic Zeros" however my iphone isn't that fancy, plus I was standing at an awkward angle.

Let me start off the night for you.
We started the evening with pasta, salad, and sourdough bread. AMAZING!
Tessa came over for dinner since she too was a part of the festivities.
So we ate, talked, and laughed. Classic.
We than headed our way over to our old house, my brother's house. Emma and I decided that Tessa should meet the kids and that we wanted hugs and kisses from the niece and nephews.
While we there we came across this...
Quite possibly the best double stack of stacked cups I've ever seen. My 7 year old nephew sort of amazes me.
So anyway, we left the children and headed towards the venue.
We get to the venue and my brother realizes that he doesn't have cigs, so we walked to the gas station for some smokes.
We head back to the venue and get our tickets scanned. We are officially in!
First stop: BOOZE!
My brother knew the bartender (naturally) so our 4 drinks were really cheap on top of the already $5 drink special. :D

the stage... AHHH! it was a pretty cool backdrop as you can see.

So it turns out the headliners were like 9 or 10 open mic acts. Now part of me thinks, "That's cool. The band is letting friends perform."
However the more the acts went on the more I think the whole crowd thought, "oh dear, let this be over with already! Bring on Edward Sharpe!!"
So after 9 or 10 different acts and about 3 long islands later there was still no Edward Sharpe!
What the heck man!!
Turns out the band asked to kill some more time. So the crowd stood and waited. We waited for a good 30 minutes I think.

And finally we got to hear the amazing sound of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros!
It was amazing! As my brother said it, "Pure energy" Which was not far from the truth.
So as the show goes on, the drinks keep being sucked down.
One of the what seemed to be 25 times I went to the restroom I found this...
Now you're thinking. "I don't want to see this!"
Well guess what? I DIDN'T WANT TO EITHER!
However because I was just buzzed enough and really had to pee it was not beneath me to use that stall.
It was a quick flush and unfortunately I just had to ignore the cup sitting there... but still AWKWARD. and yet still hilarious for me. :D

So finally, after hearing about how my brother slipped in the lobby and hurt his knee we were all joined together again for the encore.
The show ended with Edward Sharpe (real name Alex) stepped into the crowd and literally sat. In the crowd. At first everyone within a 5 ft. radius of him sat. But than that turned into almost the whole venue. This was one of the last sights of the night.
AMAZING!
